SAFETY TIPS
USE a Forget Me Not Sticker on your car wndow, the door you exit from home, anywhere you need a visual reminder.
MAKE a resolution to 'NEVER LEAVE A CHILD ALONE IN A VEHICLE FOR ANY REASON"
PUT your purse and/or briefcase in the backseat next to the car seat. Most people take their purses and/or briefcases with them when they exit the vehicle.
PUT the diaper bag, stuffed animal, on the front seat, use any object that will remind you have a child in the back seat.
COVER the car seat with a bright colored blanket or fabric (bright yellow, lime green, hot pink) to give you another visual aid to help you remember.
ALWAYS lock you car, even if it is in your garage. Make sure your child knows the car is not a toy. Do not let your child sit on your lap and drive. Teach your child vehicles are machines, not playthings.
THE state of texas has the "Look Before Your Leave" motto, make it your own.
MAKE it a rule to put the child "in" the car last and take the child "out" first
HAVE a plan for your childcare provider to call you if your child does not show up for school.
Program your cell phone to send you a reminder.

Consider This: What if you decided to leave your child alone in the car while you ran into the store for just a minute. What If Something Happened To YOU? No one would know your child was somewhere in your car in the parking lot, alone. Who would rescue your child? This happened to a friend of mine.
